FESTIVAL GENERAL MANAGER: Éric Larivière

Éric Larivière, former General Manager of the Sociètè du Centre Pierre-Péladeau, in Montreal, Québec,�is�the new Music and Cultural Director of the Florida International Festival and Central Florida Cultural Endeavors, Inc.

He succeeds Dewey Anderson, General Manager of CFCE and the Festival since 1991, who�has retired. In that time, the Festival budget has grown from $1.7 million to nearly $3 million for the 2003 edition of the biennial project.

Larivière presented an impressive array of concerts�in Montreal,�including orchestras, jazz, dance, chamber, ethnic and popular music in the Society�s 900-seat facility. He increased its budget from $500,000 Canadian to $2.5 million since he assumed that position in 1994.� Prior to that he managed orchestral concerts in Sherbrooke, Canada. His extensive marketing experience includes work with the Montréal Symphony Orchestra.

He is President of the Board of the Canadian Arts Presenting Association and serves on a number of Boards including Qu�bec�s Music Council, LOMA Productions (a dance presenter) and Les Idées Heureuses Baroque Musical Society.

Éric�s advanced studies include a music degree in cello performance from McGill University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Québec.

He is�a native�of Québeçois, and his family will join him here this summer.

The Search Committee that selected Mr. Larivière included 2003 Festival Chairman Thurman Gillespy, Jr., MD; former Festival Chairmen Tom Staed and David Slick, Board member Linda Hargreaves and Festival Founder Tippen Davidson. The Committee reviewed more than seventy applicants and invited eight for interview in Daytona Beach.
